Flooring. . . Carpet, Tile, or Hardwood? That is the Question.
Choosing the proper flooring for you home can feel like such an overwhelming and exhausting task. However, have no fear we are here to help you through the bumps and scrapes to make it as painless as possible. One of the key things to factor into your decision is defining what the purpose and feel you want the room to have. Different rooms need different floors, each floor reacts differently to varying climates, and everyone has their own taste. But remember, with our skilled in house design professionals here to help you, it’s much easier than you would think to find the perfect flooring for your home.
First let's start with Hard Surface products and, with the simplest part of choosing floors being, what rooms are you need flooring for. Bathrooms, Mudrooms, and Laundry Rooms all need floors that can hold up to heavy amounts of moisture, water and other spills. We suggest that products such as tile and stone are the best options for those rooms. There are many options when it comes to stone and tile whether it be, Porcelain, Ceramic, Travertine, Marble, Slate, Limestone, Cement Tiles etc. As the saying goes, once installed these products are "Set In Stone." For rooms such as the Kitchen, Entry, Halls and many more areas there are a few great options. Hardwood, whether it be Solid Hardwood or Engineered Wood, Laminate, LVP / LVT (Luxury Vinyl Plank / Luxury Vinyl Tile) and other materials work well in these rooms. Choosing the right color for the floors depends on the whole room. Counters, wall paint, appliances and furniture all play a role in the choice of color for flooring. Bathrooms, Kitchens, Mudrooms and Laundry Rooms are the easiest rooms to plan for because they have certain needs, every other room in the house can have whatever flooring you want.
Next let’s think about our cozy Soft Surface areas such as Bedrooms, Living Rooms, Offices, Stairways etc. Carpet styles can vary from thick and comfy, to sort and tight, and are all very popular choices for many of these rooms. That is what makes this material such a versatile product for so many spaces. You are able to go for comfort and style in so many fun and unique ways. Carpet flooring is also a great way to dampen noise and add a great sense of comfort to the room.
